Foot pain
What is foot pain?
The foot is a complex structure of more than 26 bones, 40 joints, and 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments. If you consider that with each step we take, a force of 2-3 times our body weight is placed on our feet and during a typical day we take 8,000 – 10,000 steps, it comes as no surprise that at some time in our lives we will all suffer from some type of foot pain.
The good news is that the underlying cause of foot pain is rarely serious and in most cases, it is very treatable by you, at home. This website provides information, advice and resources from Sheffield clinicians to help you do this.
