Trigger finger
Dealing with a Trigger Finger
For many people the issue is more of an annoyance as it does not stop them doing the things they need to.
- Most mild cases recover over a few weeks without treatment.
- You are encouraged to continue using the hand as normal.
- If your finger or thumb are getting stuck in a bent position and you have to straighten it using your other hand, please contact your GP practice.
- Persistent triggers usually settle with a steroid injection.
- In severe cases surgery can be offered.
