Active Wait: Week 10
Support available to you
During this difficult time of waiting for a hip or knee replacement, you may feel like you need some extra support. It may benefit you to contact your social prescribing link worker who will be able to guide you to the services you need to help you get through this difficult time.
Sheffield Aches and Pains can direct you to your local link worker.
You can also search for services locally or city wide using the Sheffield Directory.
Finance support
If you require finance support, you can find out what finance support is available to you by contacting Citizen Advice Sheffield.

If you live in Sheffield and are struggling to afford food and other essentials, the Household Support Fund may be able to help you. You can find out more through the Sheffield City Council website.
Staying in work
Needing a hip or knee replacement may affect your ability to work. The Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service can provide support and advice for people whose health is affected by their work and to help and support them to keep their job. You can find more information and contact this service here www.sohas.co.uk/. Another team called Working Win helps people stay in work or find alternative employment when their health is impacting on this and has a self referral option.
Travel
If you can drive, you may be eligible for a Blue Badge. Having a Blue Badge will allow you to park closer to where you need to be. You can apply for a blue badge here.
If you are unable to drive or use public transport, you may be eligible for a Free bus pass. You can apply for a free bus here.
